Science Fair 2010
Over 600 students from throughout the metro area competed in the 2010 Twin Cities Regional Science Fair
The Native Academy group did very well and were once again the only high school students from a
Minneapolis public school.
From Nawayee Center School:
Nadirah Salame won a blue ribbon (top 20%), and two awards: 11th Grade Top
Project Award from the Graduate Women in Science and an award for the
students who showed the most promise from the East Side Science Club Award
From South High School:
Michelle LaGarde received a red ribbon (top 50%) and an honor award from
the American Council of Engineering Companies.
Micah Hill received a red ribbon (top 50%) and an IT award from the
University of Minnesota.
Valerie Smith received a red ribbon (top 50%)
Lacie Roberts received a red ribbon (top 50%)
Juana Espinoze received a blue ribbon (top 20%), the Stockholm Junior
Water Prize Award, an ISWEEP Award, the Glen Domeier Memorial Award, an
award for excellence from the US ARMY, was chosen to compete at state, and
was chosen second alternate for the International Science and Engineering
Fair.
