Summer Media Institute
This project involves fifteen high school students for a gateway 10-week summer media training institute conducted in partnership with MCTC Cinema Division on the MCTC campus. During the ten weeks, students learn the fundamentals of story creation and the technical aspects of digital production in MCTC’s state of the art production facilities.

This project component will prepare Indian youth to take advantage of conventional and new media opportunities to create and distribute Indian-produced content; create a versatile and visible Indian presence in new media arenas; and prepare Indian youth for success in education and 21st century careers by providing them with transferable skills training in media and technology.

Each summer institute focuses on digital story creation around themes of significance to the Indian community. A public screening and celebration of student work will is held each year.
